spotlighting the technologies and techniques

behind sound for picture

We returned to a live setting at Sony Pictures Studios on September 24, 2022, and we had a great time welcoming the film sound community back! Since its debut in 2014, the success of this one-of-a-kind gathering of the audio post-production community has been all about the people who attend—the professionals and the new blood, the manufacturers and the creative talent—and how they interact with the audience. It's an intimate, expert-driven day that we continued these past two years in the virtual space, all the while looking forward to the day we could return to the Sony lot in Culver City, California.

We celebrated the talent and technologies that drive the ever-changing audio post-production industry.

The ninth annual Sound for Film & Television event featured an all-day exhibition and conference spotlighting the technologies, techniques and talent behind sound for picture, from production to playback. The boom in television and streaming services, not to mention the restrictions put in place during the pandemic, has led to changes in post-production workflows and the incorporation of remote collaboration, creating new models for how content is produced. We heard from industry experts sharing their insights on where we are now as well as a look at what's on the horizon.
