Daniel Colman has been a sound designer and supervising sound editor for almost 30 years. Much of his career has been spent huddled in a dark corner of one dub stage or another completely re-designing and editing sounds at finger-breaking speeds to go with ever-changing complex visual effects sequences, chasing updates that pour in, sometimes mere minutes before playing back the mix for producers. He has specialized in working on very VFX-intensive science fiction and fantasy shows, such as Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Cowboy Bebop, Defiance, Dominion, Eureka, Fallout, Interview with the Vampire, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Agent Carter, Raised by Wolves, Warehouse 13, and so many others.
So far, his efforts have earned him one Primetime Emmy Award from seven nominations, three Motion Picture Sound Editor Golden Reel Awards from twenty-six nominations, a hand full of other sound related honors, a toxic-level coffee addiction, and insomnia.
Daniel has been haunting the halls of NBCUniversal full time for the last nine or so years after spending two decades at a small but very prolific, and now defunct, sound editing boutique called AnEFX.
