Andrew Poulain serves as Director of Cinema and Group Entertainment Product Management at Dolby Laboratories, where he oversees the company's portfolio of audio, imaging, and accessibility products for exhibition and live sound businesses. Poulain played a key role in bringing Dolby Atmos to the cinema market, contributing to the development of the Dolby Atmos Cinema Processor CP850, the Dolby Atmos specification, room design tools, and automatic equalization software for studio and cinema calibration.
Prior to joining Dolby, Poulain served as Director of Cinema and Studio Programs at THX, where he was responsible for the venue certification program, professional equipment approval, and trailer measurements for the Trailer Audio Standards Association (TASA). His experience at THX provided valuable expertise in audio standards and quality assurance across the entertainment industry.
Poulain is an active member of both the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), reflecting his ongoing commitment to industry standards and technological advancement in cinema audio.
