Gary A. Rizzo is a three-time Academy Award-winning, three-time BAFTA Award-winning, and two-time Emmy winning re-recording mixer. A valedictorian graduate of Full Sail University in 1993, Rizzo has contributed to nearly 300 films since joining Skywalker Sound in 1995. His collaborations include a long-running partnership with Sir Christopher Nolan that began with BATMAN BEGINS and continues through THE ODYSSEY (including his first two Academy Award wins for INCEPTION and DUNKIRK).

His work with Joseph Kosinski, spanning from TRON:LEGACY to F1, earned Rizzo his third Academy Award win in 2026. He regularly collaborates with Chris Meledandri’s Illumination Studios with franchises including SING and MINIONS. He continues collaborations with Dreamworks Animation Studios on franchises like THE CROODS, THE WILD ROBOT (earning his seventh Academy Award Nomination), and most recently FORGOTTEN ISLAND. Rizzo’s love for music mixing enables ongoing partnerships with directors Thom Zimny (ROAD DIARY) and Frank Marshall (THE BEACH BOYS and THE BEE GEES:HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART) on their documentaries and concert films.
