David Lee is a highly experienced sound engineer. HiFi and music have always inspired him and sound continues to be his domain. He studied both audio and electronics. Working in television in the 70’s as a boom operator, and recorded his first feature, Saigon in Bangkok in the late 80’s. This was soon followed by notable films such as Romper Stomper, Muriel’s Wedding and The Island of Dr Moreau. In 2000, David won an academy award for best sound on The Matrix. Additionally, he has received awards from The Australian Film Institute, The Australian Screen Sound Guild, The British Academy and The Cinema Audio Society; and was nominated for another Academy Award for Unbroken. He continues to work on numerous Australian and International productions, one of the latest being Elvis. His enthusiasm for sound, music and recording endures; as does his commitment to producing the greatest achievable sound.
