With over three decades’ experience, BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Becki Ponting is one of the film industry’s most accomplished sound editors.

Cyrano marks her latest collaboration with director Joe Wright, which commenced with 2005’s Pride & Prejudice and has continued through all of Mr. Wright’s features including such hits as Darkest Hour and Atonement; the latter brought Ms. Ponting a BAFTA Award nomination.

Her early career training was at the BBC. She won a BAFTA Award for her work as sound effects editor on the miniseries Daniel Deronda, directed by Tom Hooper. She was supervising ADR editor on the miniseries Generation Kill, for which she received an Emmy Award as well as a Golden Reel Award from the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE). She was also nominated for the latter honor on the aforementioned Darkest Hour and Atonement.

Ms. Ponting has worked on several films with director Stephen Frears, including the Best Picture Oscar nominee Philomena; on Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes movies; and on the recent 007 blockbuster No Time to Die, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. She was supervising sound editor on The Two Popes, directed by Fernando Meirelles and starring Oscar-nominated Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce.

Her next project is Paul Feig’s The School for Good and Evil, starring Charlize Theron and Michelle Yeoh.
