Sound for Steve McQueen's Small Axe
Creator and director Steve McQueen’s five-film series Small Axe, detailing the lives of London’s West Indian immigrants from the 1960s to 1980s, has had three “episodes” debut at the New York Film Festival and two more selected for the official competition at Cannes 2020. It premiered on the BBC, then Amazon Prime in November 2020 with a gritty, real, street-centered sound design central to the cinematic experience and equally riveting on the small screen.
